Coca-Cola FEMSA celebrates 30 years as a public company

Coca-Cola FEMSA”) celebrates its 30th anniversary as a public company, commemorating its listing and the beginning of trading of its shares at both the Mexican Stock Exchange (“BMV”) and the New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”).

Since 1993, along with this milestone, its capital strengthened due to the significant involvement of the Coca-Cola Company, which has influenced in its growth, from a bottler operating solely in Mexico to the largest bottler of Coca-Cola products in the world in terms of sales volume.

With the mission to create economic, social, and environmental value in the communities where it has a presence, its more than three decades of experience leading the beverage industry has allowed it to become a future-ready organization, serving more than two million points of sale and more than 270 million customers.

In 1993, operating only in Mexico, Coca-Cola FEMSA achieved a sales volume of 246 million unit cases, operating 13 distribution centers. Thirty years later the company produces 15 times more, registering approximately a sales volume of 3.8 billion unit cases operating 249 distribution centers.

Ian Craig, CEO of Coca-Cola FEMSA stated: “The 30th anniversary of our initial public offering is a great opportunity to reinforce our commitment with our clients, our communities, and our collaborators. Also, although we have gone through a very successful journey filled with challenges we overcame, it is important to emphasize that we see great opportunities in our future while we leverage our strategy to continue to grow our core business and become our clients’ preferred commercial platform.”

The achievements obtained during these 30 years have been possible due its corporate culture centered around people and focused on continuous talent development, the promotion of integral wellbeing and a safe environment, multiplier leadership, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. In its second year of operations, Coca-Cola FEMSA had 14 thousand employees in Mexico and Argentina, and today its workforce is of more than 82 thousand collaborators.

Additionally, and in line with its value creation mission, the company is committed to make a difference in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). In the environmental pillar with initiatives linked to climate action, circular economy, and water stewardship. In the social aspect it works to improve its impact on stakeholders, including nearby communities, supply chain, and its collaborators. In parallel through its governance pillar, it seeks to guarantee reporting transparency to support its commitments.
