We develop circular economy strategies that maximize resource use and minimize waste.
Our commitment includes four key elements: from packaging design and full lifecycle, to reuse and recycling, as well as oversight of operations and waste management processes.

Packaging
We foster design innovation through lighter packaging and the use of recycled materials in the manufacture of our beverage packaging, under our commitment to circularity, waste reduction, and responsible use of resources in our operations.
-
We have collected 123,842 tons of PET, equivalent to more than 8 billion bottles.
GOAL 2035:
30% to-35% In 2025, we incorporated 27% rPET into our primary packaging.
We are leaders in promoting the use of returnable bottles in all the countries where we operate.
31% of our sales volume comes from returnable bottles.
WASTE AND RECYCLING
We improve waste collection and recycling directly through partnerships, and we work toward achieving zero-waste operations.
In 2024, we began operations at PLANETA, our food-grade PET recycling facility in Tabasco, Mexico, a joint venture with ALPLA. Supported by 18 recently established collection centers, PLANETA will strengthen the rPET production cycle in southeastern Mexico.
PLANETA has the capacity to process approximately 50,000 tons of post-consumer PET bottles annually, equivalent to nearly 6% of Mexico’s total PET recycling capacity. Additionally, it operates at three times the capacity of Industria Mexicana de Reciclaje (IMER), the pioneering food-grade PET recycling plant we launched in 2005 in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company, further strengthening our recycling system and sustainability goals.
Through SUSTENTAPET, we continue to strengthen and optimize our regional collection system to drive circularity across all our operations. This platform integrates our PET collection initiatives under a single brand and operates in every country where Coca-Cola FEMSA has a presence, with 26 collection centers and 22 collaborative projects addressing local market needs.
