Coca-Cola System in the Philippines ensuring children’s nutritional needs.

KOF has reached 50 schools with the Minute Maid Nurisha Supplementary Feeding Program.

In 2008, The Coca-Cola Company initiated a global campaign to help address micronutrient deficiencies of children in vulnerable communities.
Through the provision of a nutrient-fortified, great-tasting, ready-to-drink beverage—such as Minute Maid Nurisha in the Philippines.

Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines developed Minute Maid Nurisha. It is a juice drink fortified with iron, vitamin A, zinc, and other microminerals that help alleviate the micronutrient deficiencies in school-aged children. This development was made together with the national government’s Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).

In line with this, the Minute Maid Nurisha Supplementary Feeding Program was established. It has provided nutrition to children aged six to nine, especially those suffering from iron and micronutrient deficiency, within a period of 120 school days.

As part of our efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition across the nation, Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines (KOFPH) helped in this year’s deployment of the program, using our network all over the country so that more children who need it the most could benefit from the initiative.

We have reached around 50 schools, augmenting the efforts of the Coca-Cola Foundation. Through our sites all over the country, and our associates who volunteered to distribute and ensure that schools receive enough Nurisha drinks.

This program has not only benefited thousands of students; it has also reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to bring social value and positive change in the communities in which we operate.
